Osmocote® Premium Tomato Planting Mix has been developed by horticultural experts to provide the ideal moisture and nutrient environment for tomatoes. The formulation is ideal for all types of tomatoes and is perfect to use in large pots and raised garden beds. It includes Scotts Osmocote® that feeds for 4 months.
When to use
FEATURES
- Controlled Release Fertiliser distributes nutrients as plants need it, for up to 4 months.
- Wetting agent spreads water evenly to the root zone.
- Growth stimulants encourage strong root development for healthier, more vigorous plants.
- Potassium encourages fruit and flower production.
SUITABLE FOR
- Tomatoes growing in pots, boxes, raised beds or the open garden.
- Safe to use for new plants - the controlled release of nutrients means it will not burn soft leaves or tender young roots.
NOT SUITABLE FOR
- Don't use for phosphorus sensitive plants.
- Don't use in hydroponic growing systems or ponds.
- Don't use on lawns - use only specifically named lawn topdress soils on grassed areas.
HOW TO USE Osmocote® Tomato Premium Planting Mix is ready to use straight from the bag with no further additives required.
AS A POTTING MIX:
- Water the plant and allow it to drain.
- Select a clean pot and partly fill with new potting mix.
- Carefully turn the plant out of its existing pot, gently loosen the root ball and trim o any dead or damaged roots.
- Place the plant in the new pot. Fill the pot with potting mix to the top of the root ball, gently tapping to help the potting mix settle.
- Thoroughly water the plant and allow it to drain, if necessary top up with potting mix.
- Protect the plant from wind, heat and strong sunlight for around 5 days.
AS A PLANTING MIX:
- Water the plant and allow it to drain.
- Add a layer of mix to the planting area.
- Dig a hole approximately twice the size of the plant's root ball.
- Gently loosen the root ball and trim off any dead or damaged roots.
- Partly fill the hole with mix, place plant in the centre of the hole, and fill up with mix.
- Press gently around the base of the plant.
- Thoroughly water the plant and then frequently enough to ensure the mix remains.
ONGOING PLANT CARE
- Water daily or more often in hot dry weather.
- Osmocote® Tomato Premium Planting Mix contains a balanced fertiliser but additional fertiliser may be required in time.
- To encourage better fruit production and air flow pinch out the laterals. Laterals are small shoots that appear up the stem.

CAUTION: This product may cause staining of hard surfaces if wet. Avoid contact with hard surfaces and if contact does occur, sweep off immediately.
