Miracle-Gro® Flower Magic® Wildflower Mix
Having beautiful flowers in your garden has never been easier! Miracle-Gro® flower seeds selected to grow in dry and shady areas. It also contains coir, a super absorbent material, which expands to surround the seeds in a moist protective layer helping germination. Both annual and perennial flowers will create a beautiful display.
Beautiful flowers all season long!
Miracle-Gro® Flower Magic is so Quick and Easy to Use…
Simply choose an area with moist soil and good natural light, remove any weeds and then rake over the soil lightly.
Sprinkle the mix evenly over the soil. Remember, the flower seeds are tiny so they will be invisible in the soil. What you will see is the plant food granules, so use these to help you apply the mix - each granule should be approximately 1.5cm apart when applied correctly.
Water it in gently until the soil turns dark brown, then just let the Miracle-Gro ingredients do the rest… The shredded coir compost will protect the seeds in the soil, giving them the best environment in which to grow. The slow release plant food will then feed the seedlings for up to four months, keeping your flowers strong and healthy. All you need to do is keeping watering. The clever coir compost will even tell you when to do this - it will turn light brown when you need to add more water and dark brown once you’ve watered it enough.

RHS Perfect for Pollinators
The RHS Perfect for Pollinators mark is only given to plants that support pollinating insects in gardens. Bees, butterflies, moths, hoverflies and many others visit flowers to feed on nectar and pollen; while doing so they transfer pollen and increase seed set and fruit development. Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to shake the jar to distribute the seeds and ensure even soil coverage?
No! Because of the special formulation of the coir compost, the seeds stick to it when initially mixed and remain in position, ensuring even distribution. We even simulated a 1,000km road journey to find out if the seeds shake out during transport – and they don’t!
What happens if I over-apply the mixture?
You should try your best to apply the product as advised in the instructions. If you apply too much, you will get overcrowding, which can lead to poor growth and lack of flowers. If you apply too much, you can always thin out the seedlings as they germinate and grow.
After correct application the soil will not be completely covered and the plant food granules will be around 1.5cm (½in) apart on the soil.
When will I see flowers?
Depending on exactly when you use it during spring, and the prevailing weather conditions, the soil should be covered in young green plants in four weeks and the first flowers will begin to appear after six weeks. The plants will flower continuously until the first severe autumn frost, which is normally October or November, depending on which part of the country you’re based.
How can I identify the flowers?
Unless you know exactly what the seeds of each variety look like, you can’t identify the flowers from the seed mixture. If you want to identify the plants when they are in flower, pictures of the commonest varieties in each mix, together with their flowering times, are shown on the label on the back of the jars.
What happens if the weather is frosty?
Depending on exactly when you use it during spring, and the severity and timing of any frost, the majority of the varieties are completely frost tolerant and won’t be affected. If you are at all concerned about frost, you can always cover the plants with horticultural fleece at night when frosty weather is forecast.
Do I have to keep on watering?
Yes! The most important time in the plants’ life is when the seeds are germinating and the young seedlings are establishing. During this time, it is essential that they don’t dry out. But the coir compost changes colour when it starts to dry out - from a dark brown to a light brown - providing an easily recognisable indicator of when more water is needed. Throughout the summer, depending on the prevailing weather conditions, the plants may need a thorough watering (usually once a week) to prevent the soil drying out.
Should I add more feed?
Miracle-Gro Flower Magic contains a slow-release feed that provides all the nutrients the plants need for up to 4 months from sowing. After this time, it is usually a good idea to give the plants a weekly liquid feed with Miracle-Gro All Purpose Plant Food to ensure continuous flowering, right through to autumn.
Can I use it in containers?
Yes, of course! Miracle-Gro Flower Magic can be used anywhere you would normally grow summer flowers. If you only have a few pots or containers, the handy 350g pouch is the best option. This will be enough for up to 10 42cm (16in) pots. Remember that the plants grow quite tall, so larger containers are better.

Can I use it on sloping ground?
Yes! We’ve tested it on slopes up to 30 degrees and it works perfectly. Because the coir compost protects the seeds, they will remain where they have been sown and will germinate, grow and flower as they would on flat ground.
